Our History

Our History

Puerta Hermosa was founded in 2008 by a small group of people who saw the need for greater faith, hope and love to be alive and present in the Fox Cities. Through the years, we have remained flexible, changing our outreach and activities to meet community needs.  In In our founding years, much as a missionary would address an assignment in a foreign country, we began by:
  • Helping people with basic needs, including: food, clothing, accessing medical Care, housing, employment, recovery programs, job skills, schools, language programs, legal assistance, counseling and spiritual care
  • Empowering families with resources to meet God, develop faith, character, life and language skills
  • Encouraging people toward changes needed to live healthy, fulfilling lives
